Adding Video to Your Website

When you are in a place where you are looking to get a lot of attention for your viewpoint or product, you know that you only have a few moments to grab the attention of the browsers who come to your site. When someone clicks on a link that sends them to your site, you will find that they need to see something that will catch their attention right away, and one of the best ways to do that is through the creative use of video!

There are a number of different ways that you can use videos on your site. The most straightforward way to add video to your site is have a few on the sidebar that can be played as a counterpoint to your text, but you will also find that you can have video that immediately opens and starts playing when your site is opened. For something even more attention-grabbing, you can create a video that will make it look like an image of you is walking across the screen and talking to the audience!

The first step in adding video to your site is of course to make the video. A digital camcorder is quite affordable, and you may find that you can even borrow one from a friend. Some library programs will loan them out, though you may find that at the end of the day, particularly if you want to make video a big part of what your site is about that you will buy your own. You can tape yourself talking to the customer and in this way, you will find that you can really make a connection with them. This is a good way for them to start associating your face with your product or service.

Once you have the raw video to work with, you will need a program that will let you edit the video down into a finished format. The most basic way to do this to check your computer for a program that already exists there. For instance, on Windows, you will find that Windows Movie Maker comes with many versions of it. If you are after something very involved, you will find that you many need to purchase a good drug interactions program, and this can cost you anywhere in a wide range of prices. Before you get a program, think about what you want to do, what you need and what features you can do without!

When the video is put together, you will find that the easiest way to get it on your webpage is to look for a program that will create the code to embed it on your webpage. Once again, there are many products that will do this, so figure out what features you cannot do without and look for a program that will help you achieve the look that you are after.

Alternatively you can upload your video to YouTube and then use the embed code which they provide. This way you publish your video on your own site as well as reaching a large audience via YouTube.

Adding video to your website is something that can go a long way towards getting you the attention that you need, so make sure that you think about what your options are and what choices you have to make.
